Diana Sánchez

Chairwoman

Diana has a degree in Economics from Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. She has a master's degree in Business Administration from Universidad Nacional de Educación a Distancia in Spain and another master's degree in International Development from the University of Bath (United Kingdom).
​
Diana worked for several years in investment banking in the United Kingdom. Later, she moved to Latin America where she co-founded two companies, one of them of socio-ecological nature, and also worked as a consultant for ecological and social companies and projects.
Diana has extensive experience in the formulation and development of environmental projects with a special focus on improving the living conditions of vulnerable groups and society in general.

At Ecoadapta Diana is responsible for the strategic direction of the association, and for the formulation and creation of economic and financial models for the projects we execute.

Pedro Zorrilla Miras

Secretary

Pedro has a degree in Environmental Sciences and a doctorate in Ecology and Environment from Universidad Autónoma de Madrid.
 
Pedro has worked in the scientific and business fields at the University of Edinburgh, at the Madrid cooperative Terrativa, and at the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid Socio-Ecosystem Laboratory. At the end of 2020, he finished his research on adaptation to climate change of small farmers in Mozambique thanks to the prestigious Marie Sklodowska-Curie grant from the European Union.

Pedro is an expert in socio-ecosystems, in studying the links between the contributions of nature and human well-being, as well as in nature-based solutions for adaptation to climate change.
 
At Ecoadapta, Pedro is responsible for the internal management of the association and for scientific research on socio-ecological projects.

Paloma Santos

Paloma has a degree in Advertising, Public Relations and Marketing from the ESIC Business & Marketing School University (Madrid) and the Rey Juan Carlos University (Madrid).
 
Paloma is multilingual and has developed her professional career in the marketing and communication departments of several international companies. She is an expert in marketing and design with experience in coordinating proposals and work packages for European projects, standing out for being a methodical, organized person with great adaptability.
 
At Ecoadapta Paloma is responsible for the association's account management, and internal communication and our projects.

Beatriz Mayor

Beatriz has a degree in Environmental Sciences and a PhD in Geology from the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. In addition, he has an international master's degree in Integrated Water Management.
 
Beatriz has worked at IIASA, carrying out a multidimensional analysis of the water-energy-land nexus and has served as an independent consultant and researcher in science and innovation projects. She has experience in the topics of water-energy interconnections, water footprint, accounting and management of water resources, identification of impacts, prospective Delphi studies, qualitative and quantitative analysis of information, participatory methodologies and generation of scenarios with stakeholders, as well as in coordination of projects, writing technical and scientific reports in Spanish and English and dissemination of results.
 
At Ecoadapta Beatriz is responsible for the scientific research of projects related to the water-energy-land nexus.

Manuel Bea

Manuel has a degree in Environmental Sciences and a doctorate in Geography from the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid.
 
Manuel has worked in several applied research projects within the H2020, Marco and LIFE programs of the European Union and has been part of more than ten evaluation processes of proposals for the H2020 program. He was also a professor of the Master in “Environmental Management” at the Instituto de Empresa (IE), and developed a multi-scale service based on the integration of water accounting and auditing techniques thanks to a post-doctoral fellowship within the Torres-Quevedo program.
 
Manuel is an expert in water use accounting and in territorial analysis studies, with a special interest in monitoring threats and impacts on socio-ecological systems.
 
At Ecoadapta Manuel is responsible for scientific research for water projects.

Elena López Gunn

Elena is a geographer and completed her PhD at King’s College (London). He has a master's degree in Environment and Development from the University of Cambridge and another master's degree in Investigative, Data and Visualization Journalism from the Rey Juan Carlos I University and the newspaper El Mundo.
 
Elena has worked as a professor at IE Business School, at the Water Observatory of the Botín Foundation, and at the London School of Economics, as an Alcoa Research Fellow. Professionally, Elena has collaborated with various organizations such as UNESCO, FAO, UNDP, the Directorate General for Research and Innovation of the European Union, Spanish and Dutch universities, with several basin organizations and with the British Environmental Agency. He has also worked with the private sector such as Repsol, and with NGOs such as Transparency International Spanish Chapter.
 
Elena is specialized in governance, socio-ecological analysis and innovation in relation to sustainability and adaptation to climate change.
 
At Ecoadapta Elena is responsible for scientific research for climate change adaptation projects.
